What is an Home Inspection?
A general home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of the accessible areas of a residential property, performed for a fee, which is designed to identify defects within specific systems and components defined by a specific set of Standards that are both observed and deemed material by the inspector. The scope of work may be modified by the Client and Inspector prior to the inspection process.
How much does an inspection cost?
The price varies depending on several factors such as the age and size of the home. For a detailed quote, please contact me today!
How long will the inspection take?
A quality inspection will take between 2 and 4.5 hours to complete. This depends on several factors such as the home's size, age, and condition.
When will I receive my report?
Your report will be ready for you 24 hours after the inspection, and in some cases the very same day. The report will be accessible directly from my website via a username and password I’ll provide you. You can also have me email you a PDF copy on request.
Do I need to attend the inspection?
While it is not absolutely necessary that you attend, it is highly recommended. Being on site allows you to ask the inspector questions about the condition of your home and learn about the home's systems and their operation.
Why is licensing and certification important?
It is extremely important that your home inspector is an InterNachi Certified Professional Inspector. InterNachi inspectors meet rigorous educational demands that allow you to receive the best inspection available.
The Alberta Government also requires all Home inspectors to be licensed and to carry Errors & Omissions as well as General Liability Insurance. Be sure and ask your inspector for these credentials!
